I will be doing a small run of steel cross/commuter/all around frames soon. The idea is to make an off-road road bike, not dedicated to cross racing (well suited for it, though) but also for dirt road exploring, commuting or light touring. I have made many bikes like this over the years, it’s my most popular “model” that I don’t offer, and my personal favorite style of bike. The standard road bike position doesn’t suit everyone, and they can’t fit a tire bigger than 700×28. Mountain bikes are overkill for a lot of riding that folks use them for, and too slow on smooth terrain.

These bikes will have clearance for 700×35 tires, canti brake mounts and semi-sloping geometry to fit more riders. For now, there will be 3 sizes: 54cm, 56cm, and 58cm. I’ll post the geometry later. They will be offered in one color, which hasn’t been determined yet. The price will be $1200, 25% less than a custom.

I’d like to hear from all of you about what features you’d like in such a bike, and also ideas for colors. Reply in the comment box or email here.

The first ones should be ready mid March.

Thanks for your input!
